Thomas William Baker is a shareholder in Baker, Donelson, Bearman,
Caldwell & Berkowitz, PC, a prominent national health law firm, and is a
member of the firm's Health Care Practice Group. He has a corporate and
business transactions practice that is concentrated in advising a wide
variety of health industry clients regarding organization, mergers,
acquisitions, and financing as well as specialized areas including
Corporate Compliance Plans, Medicare and Medicaid reimbursement, defense
of allegations of fraud and abuse, managed care contracting, licensure,
and certificates of need. Mr. Baker is frequently engaged to speak on
topics relevant to the health industry, and he has been a Guest Lecturer
on "The Legal Aspects of Health Care Business Transactions" in the
Auburn University Physicians Executive MBA program since 2005. He has
written many articles on health law issues, and he is active in
organizations relevant to health law, including the American Health
Lawyers Association and the Georgia Academy of Healthcare Attorneys.
The Atlanta Business Chronicle recognized him in the 2004 and 2005 list
of "Who's Who in Health Care". Mr. Baker joined Baker Donelson in 2009.
He was previously a partner at Troutman Sanders, where he served as
Chairman of their Health Care Practice Group. He received his AB degree
in political science from Syracuse University in 1972, his MBA from
Georgia State University in 1978, and his JD from Vanderbilt University
in 1981. |
