Dr.
Joe Hanna serves as Associate Professor of Logistics
at Auburn University where
he teaches undergraduate and graduate supply chain courses. Joe’s innovative
approach to education has resulted in several awards including the College’s
McCartney Teaching Award in recognition of teaching excellence.
Prior to obtaining
his PhD. from New Mexico State University, he spent several years in industry
with
Phillips Petroleum Company, Phillips 66 Chemical Company, and
PricewaterhouseCoopers. Joe is an active researcher with articles appearing in
top
logistics publications. Dr. Hanna is also a textbook author and has performed
funded
research for the Illinois Department of Transportation. These research efforts
have led
to receipt of the College’s “Outstanding Research Award”. Joe
also serves as an
advisor to several companies including John Deere, Menlo Logistics, W.C. Bradley
and
others. Dr. Hanna is active in executive education and participates in professional
organizations including the Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals.
These
outreach efforts have resulted in receipt of the College’s “Excellence
in Outreach
Award”. Joe and his wife Amy have two children.
